Until then, the future of Casa Marina, in Galeria, remained uncertain. Doubts swept away this Saturday, January 18, after the signing of a global agreement between the municipality and the Corsica regional natural park (PRNC).

The two parties, respectively owner and manager of the premises, have been opposed for several months over the renewal of the lease or the sale of the walls of this building dedicated to the environmental education of children.

Thus, “lfor sale, at a price satisfactory to both parties and agreed between them, settled with support from the Corsican Building Community” was recorded today following a mediation committee composed of the president of the executive council of Corsica, the rector of the Academy and the two presidents of the mayors' associations of Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud . “Its vocation is reinforced and perpetuated”, underlines the press release from the Corsican academy which made the agreement public.

Second point endorsed: “the implementation of a new phase of development of Casa Marina with the aim of strengthening attendance and influence, in Corsica and beyond.

In a publication on the social network X, the president of the executive council of Corsica, Gilles Simeoni, welcomed this agreement. “A Casa Marina, a major educational tool serving Corsican youth, will be saved“, he wrote.

If the amount of the transaction remains, for the moment, unknown, it was for a time at the heart of a controversy. The PNRC, which rented the premises for 46,000 euros per year, had thus proposed a price which did not suit the municipality.

The latter wanted to sell Casa Marina for at least 775,000 euros. The amount she paid to National Education in 2014 to become its owner.
