Marseille and Lyon could well stick together at the end of the winter transfer window. The arrival of Rayan Cherki at Bayern Munich would facilitate that of Mathys Tel at OM.
Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais are both experiencing a particularly eventful transfer window. From the Phocaean city, departures are not yet very numerous. This is due to negotiations which take time to bring out players who, by leaving, would free up space for recruits. On the OL side, the trend is not exactly the same. John Textor and his men are banned from recruiting by the DNCG and must use stratagems to bring in recruits, like the free loan of Thiago Almada.
On the other hand, the American businessman is not against selling some of his players if they can bring him a nice sum of money. Among them, Rayan Cherki, who arouses the desire of many European leaders, including Bayern Munich. By going after the Lyon prodigy, the Bavarians could unblock a complex file that OM is trying to deal with.
-Cherki out, Tel in, OM thanks OL
According to information from Florian Plettenberg for Sky Germany, Bayern Munich is part of the long list of clubs which closely follow Rayan Cherki. The Bavarians are even ready to pounce before the end of the winter transfer window so as not to be burned next summer. But his arrival will not be possible without the departure of Mathys Tel, also followed by many teams… including Olympique de Marseille. The Marseille management hopes to be able to replace Elye Wahi with the Bayern nugget but must come up against the refusal of the Germans. The latter do not want to let him leave until the negotiations with Rayan Cherki have been successful. Clearly, OM and OL are closely linked because of these two issues, with Bayern Munich at the heart of the matter.
