An exceptional birthdayfor an exceptional performance hall. In 2025, the Palais Garnier celebrates its 150th anniversary. Inaugurated on January 5, 1875, it has since been the place of artistic and scenic creation par excellence. Built by the architect Charles Garnierthis jewel of the French capital fascinates all over the world and brings together several million visitors and thousands of spectators came to discover its ballets, concerts and operas. The Birthday Gala

Rare are the events that bring together all the artists of the National Opera. But to mark the 150th anniversary of the Palais Garnier, the musicians of the Orchestrathe artists of the Choirs and the Academy, stars and dancers of the Ballet, but also the students of the Dance School will come together for a unique gala, next January 24. For the occasion, mezzo-soprano Léa Desandre, tenor Juan Diego Flórez, soprano Lisette Oropesa and baritone Ludovic Tézier will honor us with their presence. For those who are unable to attend, the evening will be broadcast on 5 in addition to the documentary An (extra)ordinary day: 24 hours at the Opéra Garnier de Priscilla Pizzato.

Paris Opera stage jewelry

In place since November 2024 and until March 28, 2025the exhibition highlights stage jewelry from the biggest shows. Although they are not made of gold, stones or diamonds, but of brass, glass and rhinestones, they wonderfully illustrate the theatrical illusion. The Paris Opera collection brings together no less than 4000 pieces.

The exhibition on the 150 years of the Palais Garnier
