Violette Dorange wants to become an ambassador for youth and women
Young and female, Violette Dorange has a profile that is not very common among sailors. She hopes, through her participation and media coverage, to inspire similar profiles.
“I hope it will make lots of girls want to get into ocean racing,” she whispers to West France. “It is a mixed sport, in which there is no classification between women and men. It’s really open and it’s so cool! There is no distinction to be made. I hope it will inspire you. »
She is also involved with young people in difficulty in her daily life, since 2020 she has been godmother of the Apprentis d’Auteuil foundationwhose colors she wears in the Vendée Globe.
“When I am at sea and things are not going well, I tell myself that I must continue, not give up, both for my project and my loved ones, but also for the foundation, the young people, for all those who love this project and who are following it,” she declared to The Student.
It also counts among its partners a large fast food group, whose acronym is displayed on its sails. A partnership that makes sense for the sailor.
