Calvados: the department leaves the social network X, formerly Twitter

In a press release, the Calvados department indicates that as of January 31, 2025, it will leave the social network president of the department.
The Calvados department highlights several criteria:
“For several years, social networks have taken a prominent place in public life. However, the recent evolution of the X platform raises important questions:
Dissemination of unreliable information: the proliferation of content with little or no verification harms the quality of public debates.
Debates guided by algorithms: The promotion of polemical, sensationalist and populist content biases exchanges and diverts discussions from their constructive essence.
Climate of growing disrespect: Insults, harassment and hate speech are increasing, moving communities away from their objective of benevolent exchanges with citizens.
Faced with these observations, the Calvados department has chosen to refocus its digital presence on platforms more suited to quality interactions. »
