Faced with the increase in the transmission of several respiratory infections such as influenza and COVID-19, the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of the Laurentides has modified its instructions and wearing a mask is once again compulsory in certain facilities. .

-For visitors and caregivers: Wearing a mask is mandatory for people wishing to be with a user hospitalized in a hospital center or under observation in the emergency room. However, it is not obligatory in other sectors as well as in living environments such as CHSLDs, but remains strongly encouraged.

-For users: Wearing a mask remains mandatory in all CISSS des Laurentides facilities for users with respiratory symptoms and/or linked to COVID-19. It is not otherwise obligatory, but remains suggested, particularly for immunosuppressed or transplant recipients. In living environments, the mask is not obligatory.

-For healthcare workers: Wearing a mask is obligatory in the presence of a user in hospital or in a home support context.

“The implementation of this measure is necessary to ensure the well-being and health of users and staff. I would like to thank the population in advance for their collaboration to help limit the transmission of infections within our facilities. The need for wearing a mask will be reassessed regularly and we will inform the population as soon as it is no longer required,” indicates Julie Delaney, president and CEO of the CISSS des Laurentides.
