By opening the meeting of the association of blood donors of Soumont-Saint-Quentin–Potigny (Calvados) and her region, the local and departmental president, Chantal Marie, looks back on the declining figures for the year 2024.
The five collections spread over the year did not yield the expected results.
We totaled 285 people presented compared to 345 the previous year, a significant drop of 17.5%.
According to the president, the trend is downward in each mobile collection. She recalls that in the sector, 16 people donate plasma to the Caen donation house.
The local association communicates through the press and displays the collection dates.

Chantal Marie relays this message locally. She wishes, with the association's 10 volunteers, to “retain donor loyalty to have regular results on collection days”. She would like to “mobilize these people to encourage new young volunteers to come and donate”.
During the meeting, members of the association kept the office in place. President Chantal Marie, treasurer Michel Desblé, secretary Monique Valérie.
