The Kingdom is represented at the work of this session by a delegation chaired by the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the African Union (AU) and the UNECA, Mohamed Arrouchi.

This COREP session marks the start of preparatory work for the ordinary annual Summit of the African Union. This summit will be particularly significant since it will see the election of the new leadership of the African Union Commission (AUC).

The elections, which aim to designate the positions of President, Vice President and Executive Commissioners of the pan-African organization, represent a key moment that will shape the direction of the Union for the coming years.
