It is now a tradition: Flourens hosts the first race of the year and the last before the French FSGT championship. This year, the championship will take place on Saturday January 18 and Sunday January 19 in Perreux, near Roanne, in the Loire department.
This Sunday afternoon, the cyclo-cross race was held in winter conditions but did not discourage the public, who came in large numbers to witness this spectacular event. Eight races per category were organized, as every year, taking in the mountains and hillsides around the lake.
At the end of the event, the awards ceremony took place in the village hall in the presence of Pierre Navarro, 1st deputy mayor. The big winners of this edition by category are: Titouan Parrou, Théo Peyrard, Thomas Bourdelat, Eric Humbert, Laurence Champaloux, Héloïse Ghenasia, Maël Rouanet.
Among the Haut-Garonnais runners, the 2025 champions are: Patrick Micard (older category), Jorge Ferreira (cadets), Corinne Migot (female), Ronan Fava (hopefuls), Grégory Jasek (juniors), Pelissier (minimals), Irwin Bellec (seniors), Emmanuel Deshayes (veterans). It should be noted that the first three in each category qualify for the French championship, which will allow 21 runners from the department to try their luck in Perreux.
-The organizer of the Flourens race, Jérôme Fauresse, will proudly represent his town at the French championship, accompanied by his two sons, Clément and Hugo, who will also compete.
Good luck to all the runners for this national competition!
