The reconstruction of the bridge over the Loire at Bas-en-Basset continues, after the preparatory stages of deconstruction and clearing of the rights-of-way carried out in 2024, the work devoted to moving the networks began on January 20, 2025.
This work aims to move the existing networks to free up the space necessary for the installation of future roundabouts, as well as the supports for the new structure. Traffic disruptions are expected on the RD12 and surrounding municipal roads during this period. However, no total shutdown of the RD12 is planned, thus limiting the impact for users.
This work constitutes the last preparatory stage for the creation of the roundabout at a place called Gourdon and the carpooling area. Made by the Roger Martin company, they should last approximately 2 months, subject to weather conditions. The cost of the work amounts to €210,000 including tax.
-For Blandine Proriol and Guy Jolivet, departmental councilors of the canton of Bas-en-Basset, “this new phase of work is taking place in accordance with the schedule communicated in the last information letter to residents. Preparatory work was carried out in collaboration between services, companies and elected officials, in order to minimize the impacts of the construction site for users and local residents, while guaranteeing quality and safety.”
