After Goduine Koyalipou, RC Lens is still looking to strengthen its offensive sector during the month of January. In search of a right winger, the Lensois leaders are interested in a former LOSC player.
A French international in the sights of RC Lens
After Hervé KoffiRC Lens could well continue to rely on the former players of its biggest rival, LOSC. According to information from the Teamthe current seventh in Ligue 1 is one of the clubs thinking of repatriating Jonathan Ikoné. The native of Bondy, trained at PSG before emerging at LOSC between 2018 and 2022, is today lacking playing time on the side of Fiorentina, who has already loaned M'Bala Love at RC Lens at the very start of the season.
According to several Italian sources, FC Nantes would be the first club to have made an offer for the 26-year-old winger. In addition to RC Lens, Strasbourg would also closely monitor the development of this matter. However, the biggest competition could well come from abroad. Starting with Qatar Stars League teams, who had already come forward to secure the services of Jonathan Ikoné last summer.
And knowing the player's current emoluments (190,000 euros per month), RC Lens will probably not go beyond simply collecting information. Unless Fiorentina accepts a loan with payment of Jonathan Ikoné's salary. It also remains to be known the position of the player, who displayed a real attachment to LOSC during his stay in the North of France.
