Gap: severe frosts at the start of the week

The week is marked by the return of good weather, but with freezing cold throughout , particularly in and the Hautes-Alpes. The department is on yellow alert for the risk of avalanche.

While the sun makes its comeback, the air temperature remains cool… even freezing! The drop in temperatures will be even more pronounced the rest of the week and the frosts will be more severe.

The minimum temperatures expected this Tuesday, January 14 are -3°C in , -5° in and up to -8° in and Clermont-Ferrand.

A cold that intensifies

The Hautes-Alpes are not immune to these drops in mercury and remain placed on avalanche alert by Météo France, just like Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie, as well as the entire Pyrenees chain.

The department, however, is not placed in extreme cold vigilance, unlike the and much of the northern half of the country.

And yet, temperatures above normal in Gap

Gap does not escape this cold, particularly at night, marked by frost.

This great cold, accompanied by the wind, will bring snow and ice vigilancefrom Wednesday January 15, in several departments (Vosges, Haut-Rhin, Yonne, etc.)

Despite this, the sun and blue skies predominate during the day and the thermometer will gradually rise this week to reach 10°C, or 4 degrees above seasonal norms, according to Météo France.
