“It’s unbelievable that he lies like that! » Parents and sons delivered very different versions of the family scene which took place on Friday January 10 at noon in Mussidan, in Dordogne, and which resulted in the son being tried on Monday January 13, in immediate appearance in court Périgueux Correctional Facility.

He throws the dish at his father

Cohabitation between the elderly Périgords and their 53-year-old son, released from prison at the end of November, has already experienced some incidents. This time, lunch turned violent.

And it was the potato dish, poorly cooked in the microwave, that set things on fire. The mother points out to her child that he did not remove the plastic bag, causing him to become angry. The fifty-year-old begins to insult his parents before throwing the dish at his father, who protects himself, and pulling his ears.

Convicted six times

He shoves his mother and snatches the phone from her hands. “He crossed the line, I didn’t know him to be so violent,” lamented the father during his hearing by the gendarmes.

Before the magistrates, the defendant contests the violence against his father. “He’s the one who hit the plate. I swear I didn't touch Dad. » With graying hair and a difficult gait, he claims that his parents are lying. “They wanted me to leave because my sister was coming. » For him, his father is the violent man in the family.

He violently rebelled when the gendarmes wanted to arrest him

His annoyance didn't stop with his parents. He violently rebelled when the gendarmes wanted to arrest him. He threw the soldiers to the ground to take refuge in the family home. It was another crew who arrested the man later.

His irascibility is reflected in his criminal record of six mentions, marked by convictions for violence, insults and threats of crime. The last mention, of domestic violence, landed him in detention.

Buffer strokes

On January 9, the day before the alleged acts, the fifty-year-old was in the office of the sentencing judge: here again, the meeting went badly, the man raised his voice, waved documents in refusing to sign them or stamped in place of the magistrate. “Violence collides in the gentleman’s story,” defends his lawyer Mr. Félix Gluckstein, “the daily violence of poverty, social isolation, unequal access to care…”

At the end of the hearing, the question of housing arises above all. The defendant, currently unemployed and who does not drive, cannot stay with his parents in Mussidan. For the prosecutor, Diane de Chalup, the defendant's destination can only be incarceration. It requires ten months in prison with continued detention.

Me Félix Gluckstein pleads for external placement, a sentence to be served outside prison. The criminal court accepted its arguments: the defendant was sentenced to six months in prison under external placement. “It is intended to allow you to resume your administrative situation, care and work,” the president told the defendant.
