Music ! with the Morbihan firefighters, in Plœmeur, Sunday

“This concert is a great way to start the year in , in this sometimes troubled time, explains Captain Alain Sanchez, who has directed the Morbihan Fire Brigade since 2007. We follow in the footsteps of the New Year's concert given by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Indeed, when this concert was given for the first time in 1939, it aimed to restore hope to the population through music, in these dark times of war. “This will be our 4e New Year's concert in Plœmeur. Previously, we performed in Larmor-Plage. Over the years, our concert found its place and became almost an institution. We are the only ones in Morbihan to offer a New Year's concert. Last year, we were almost sold out, with 750 spectators in attendance. »

Six couples of dancers

More than 80 musicians will be on stage: woodwinds, brass, percussion and two double basses. They will be accompanied, for three pieces, by singer Sylvie Pongerard, for the vocal touch of the program. Since 2023, the presence of dancers on five pieces is reminiscent of the spirit of the Vienna New Year's concert. This year, six couples of amateur but passionate dancers, from the association J'peux pas, j'ai bal, will perform in elegant outfits on waltzes, tangos and a paso doble, bringing a visual and festive dimension. “It will be free, non-choreographed dancing, where each couple will offer their own interpretation”specifies Cathie Malhouitre, president of the association.
