Red Bull caused a stir in the sporting world by attracting a renowned football manager to its team, snatching up Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen in the process.
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that Verstappen was “over the moon” upon learning that former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp would join Red Bull GmbH as head of global football in early 2025.
The experienced Klopp, who previously managed Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund, is expected to bring a wealth of experience and leadership, which Marko sees as a major asset for Red Bull’s racing drivers.
Marko stressed his wish for Klopp and Verstappen to meet, noting that the four-time F1 world champion is eager for the idea. “Max asked me to invite Klopp to a race to have a chat with him,” Marko shared with the source. “Max is a huge football fan, and when he learned that Jürgen Klopp would be joining the Red Bull family, he was absolutely delighted.
