Good news for transport users in Carpentras and neighboring towns in . From this Friday, January 10, lines A, B, C and D of the Trans'Cove network around will become free every Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.reports the Ventoux-Comtat-Venaissin urban community (CoVe). Line E, which serves the market directly, is already free.

« The Carpentras market is the thousand-year-old soul of our city. But sometimes, travel difficulties prevented some of our fellow citizens from easily accessing it. With the CoVe, free transport on urban lines on Friday morning meets this need,” said the mayor of Carpentras, Serge Andrieu, in a publication on his social networks.

Free buses in Carpentras meet several objectives

This initiative aims in particular to facilitate residents' travel to the municipal market. She must also help mitigate the impact of the work on avenue du Mont Ventouxwhich could be regularly congested during the next 18 months.

According to Serge Andrieu, this measure must also contribute to “ break economic barriers which prevent certain residents, notably the elderly, low-income families and young people without a car, from participating in this moment of collective life.”

The mayor of Carpentras does not forget the environmental aspect. By encouraging residents to use public transport rather than their cars, this measure helps reduce traffic and improve air quality in the Carpentras area.
