A road collapse occurred last Monday, December 30 in Monchy-Lagache.

A hole in the road

It is a hole approximately three meters deep on the roadway of departmental road 145 in the town's urban area, in the hamlet of Douvieux. The cause of this collapse is not yet known.

An order prohibiting access

The mayor of the town, Jacques Pinchon, quickly issued an order prohibiting access to the road between Monchy-Lagache and Quivières (towards the hamlet of Douvieux) or on departmental road 145, “until further notice” stipulates the decree, in order to avoid any danger.

A diversion put in place

A diversion has been set up by the department to access the two municipalities via departmental roads 15 and 145.

Work currently being estimated

As for the work, which will consist of excavation and backfilling of the hole, its estimate is currently being estimated and the date has not yet been set.
