If you like giant televisions, CES is an opportunity to see things big with models over 100 inches from Samsung, TCL or Hisense. The latter has just unveiled a new 116-inch television which is not only gigantic.
RGB Local Dimming for better image quality
Hisense engineers have modified the classic backlighting of Mini-Led panels by using red, green and blue LEDs instead of the classic white LEDs. This technology, called RGB Local Dimming, avoids the loss of brightness typical of current systems and should considerably reduce the blooming (halo effect around bright objects on a dark background). We should therefore obtain a higher light peak in HDR, as well as better contrasts.

This innovation also makes it possible to do without the traditional quantum filter of Qled panels, thus ensuring better color precision. The Chinese manufacturer thus announces coverage of the Rec. color space. 2020 by 97%, well beyond the Mini-Led models currently found on the market. The television's 6.2.2 sound system, which is Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual X compatible, should otherwise offer a very pleasant viewing experience.
An extraordinary price for an exceptional television
With an introductory price which should be around €25,000, we clearly cannot say that this television is aimed at everyone, but this type of extraordinary product mainly serves as a technological showcase. Hisense could well hold one of the keys to the future of Mini-Led televisions, especially since Samsung presented us with a very similar technology under the more misleading name of RGB Micro Led (which has nothing to do with the usual Micro Led ). We could therefore see “RGB Mini-Led” embedded in more affordable televisions in the future.
