As announced on Monday evening, the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg were placed on yellow alert for slippery conditions until 7 p.m. this Tuesday.
This Tuesday evening, a few snow showers will still be possible in Hautes-Fagnes. Later in the night, it will be dry everywhere with large sunny spells in most areas. In the south of the country, there will be a lot of low clouds. Minima will generally be around 0 or -1 degrees with a danger of slippery conditions.
Snow expected Wednesday
Wednesday, the day will start with many high clouds still letting in a few rays of sunshine. During the day, the sky will become very cloudy, and late in the afternoon and evening, a disturbance from France will reach the country. This area of precipitation should mainly concern the center and the south. In the north and northwest, precipitation is expected to remain more limited and fall as sleet or light snow.
In a large area of the center of the country, however, precipitation is expected to fall in the form of snow, leading to a risk of slippery roads due to the accumulation of snow. In the far south, precipitation would fall mainly as rain, as milder air from France would infiltrate there. This distribution of precipitation, however, remains to be confirmed, specifies the IRM.
The maxima will be close to 0 degrees in Ardennes and between 2 and 4 degrees in Lower and Middle Belgium.
