Will McPhail’s album was chosen as one of five finalist comics.
The winner of the 5th edition of the BD Fnac France Inter 2025 Prize has been revealed. It is “Au-dedans” by Will McPhail (404 editions). The winner was revealed by Rebecca Manzoni, godmother of the Fnac France Inter BD Prize, live on France Inter’s “7/10”. The author will benefit from promotion of his work at Fnac. Readers will be able to meet it in the Fnac stores in Forum des Halles (Paris) on February 26, in Lyon Bellecour on February 28 and in Lille on March 1, 2026. The comic will also be supported by a promotional campaign on France Inter. .
“Au-dedans” was elected during a final commission made up of journalists and Fnac booksellers among the five finalist comic books previously selected by a general public jury, on the basis of the 20 favorite albums of the year 2024 of Fnac booksellers and France Inter teams.
The first graphic novel by Will McPhail, already awarded the ACBD 2024 Critics’ Comics Prize, “is an invigorating and moving story centered on the person of Nick, a young, urban, withdrawn illustrator who will slowly awaken to the world. Illustrated in both black and white and color in McPhail’s instantly recognizable style, ‘Au dans dans’ is poignant as well as fresh and hilarious. The album follows “Wars of Lucas” by Laurent Hopman and Renaud Roche (Éditions Deman), comic book winner of the Fnac France Inter 2024 BD Prize.
