The world leader in airport services has won a call for tenders from ONDA to develop and operate 11 lounge spaces in nine Moroccan airports, reports L’Economiste in its Tuesday, January 7 edition. These Aspire Executive Lounges, designed to offer a premium experience, will be operational from April 2025, marking a breakthrough in the country’s airport services.
Swissport impresses with its innovative approach. Beyond its recognized global expertise in the airport sector, the group’s management displays innovative ambition, testifying to the impeccable quality of its services, thus perfectly illustrating the adage: “All customers are kings. »
Aspire lounges combine international hospitality and Moroccan culture, in accordance with the requirements of the National Airports Office of Morocco (ONDA). These spaces will offer an aesthetic inspired by Moroccan heritage, as well as a culinary offering anchored in local traditions. This merger aims to offer an authentic experience to travelers.

According to David Collyer, senior vice president of Swissport, the goal is to recreate the high-end airport hotel experience and democratize access to luxury for all passengers, regardless of class. “Under a new license recently granted by the Moroccan airport authority ONDA for the next ten years, Aspire Executive Lounges will operate eleven lounges in the airports of Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Laâyoune, Marrakech, Nador, Oujda, Rabat and Tangier,” announces Swissport, cited by the economic journal.
Present in Morocco since 2012, Swissport has established itself as a major player in the sector. In addition to its handling and ground support services, the company operates business aviation facilities and manages global activities from its Casablanca office. This new ten-year contract demonstrates ONDA’s confidence in Swissport and reflects the company’s commitment to local development. Dirk Goovaerts, CEO for Continental Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, emphasizes that this expansion aims to raise the standards of Moroccan airport services.
Aspire Executive Lounges, with a global network of nearly 100 lounges, offers modern, comfortable spaces tailored to the varied needs of travelers. In 2024, the brand innovated with its first “three-tier” show in Newcastle, offering distinct experiences according to class. This concept, which combines modern design and high-end services, responds to a growing demand for personalized experiences at airports.

The introduction of these lounges will strengthen the attractiveness of Moroccan airports as regional and international hubs. By modernizing infrastructure and highlighting Moroccan culture, this initiative supports the country’s economic and tourism development objectives. However, Swissport will face challenges, including training local staff and maintaining a balance between tradition and innovation to meet travelers’ expectations. This project embodies an ambitious vision for the future of civil aviation in Morocco.
