The firefighters could do nothing to save him. A 90-year-old man was found in cardiorespiratory arrest during an intervention for a fire this Saturday shortly after 1 p.m. Emergency services were called for a fire which broke out on the ground floor of a house, in Menucourt, in a housing estate on Allée du Bois de la Taillette.
Firefighters tried to resuscitate him in vain. The death was noted on the spot by a doctor who posed a medico-legal obstacle. A police investigation was opened to determine the causes of death.
Two other people were also treated during this intervention. They are the victim's son, a 60-year-old man, and his 61-year-old wife. They were the ones who raised the alarm about the fire when they arrived on site. They were transported in a relative emergency to the Meulan-en-Yvelines hospital center (Yvelines). The fire was extinguished using two water hoses.
A busy Saturday for the Val-d'Oise firefighters who had to deal with two other house fires that same day. The first happened in Domont, on rue de la République. Four people – two men aged 58 and 27 as well as two women aged 48 and 13 – were poisoned by the fumes. They were all transported to the Eaubonne hospital center.
In the afternoon, another fire broke out in a home on rue des Castors Nos Logis, in Montigny-lès-Cormeilles. It was a sofa that was extinguished, again, using two water hoses.
