The National Fisheries Office (ONP), indicated that the quantities of coastal and artisanal fishing products landed at the port of Tan-Tan recorded a drop of 46% at the end of November 2024, to stand at 54,187 tonnes, compared to 100,683 tonnes during the same period of 2023.

In its latest report on coastal and artisanal fishing statistics in Morocco, the ONP specifies that the market value of these products recorded a drop of 10%, reaching 737.79 million dirhams at the end of November. 2024, compared to 822.77 million dirhams a year earlier.

According to the report, the quantity of pelagic fish landed in this port decreased by 54% at the end of November 2024 to stand at 38,650 tonnes, with a financial value of 157.765 million dirhams, compared to 84,443 tonnes (276.950 million dirhams) during the same period of 2023.

For their part, catches of white fish fell by 14% (9,948 tonnes) to reach 218.919 million dirhams (-5%), compared to 11,578 tonnes (229.863 million dirhams) for the same period in 2023.

Landings of molluscs increased by 19%, with 5,405 tonnes (352.089 million dirhams, or +14%), compared to 4,540 tonnes valued at 310.082 million dirhams during the same period of the year. 2023.

Concerning crustaceans, their landings increased by 52% at the end of November 2024 to reach 185 tonnes (9.016 million dirhams/+53%), compared to 122 tonnes for a market value estimated at 5.876 million dirhams at the end. of November 2023.

At the national level, a total of 1,233,568 tonnes of coastal and artisanal fishing products were marketed at the end of November 2024, an increase of 1% compared to the same period of 2023.

According to the National Fisheries Office, the value of these landings amounted to 10 billion dirhams, up 6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
