Rumors are circulating about a supposed loss by Barthélemy Dias of his influence within Taxawu Senegal, in addition to his recent setbacks in the National Assembly and at Dakar town hall. Information that Aïssatou Mbacké Fall, president of the women of the movement, firmly refutes.

In a statement made to the newspaper Les Echos, Ms. Mbacké Fall says she does not understand the motivations behind these allegations, which she describes as “gross manipulations”. She recalls that Barthélemy Dias benefits from the unconditional support of Khalifa Sall and the entire movement. “These rumors are fabrications aimed at undermining understanding within Taxawu Senegal,” she declared.

Contrarying the information published by certain media, Ms. Mbacké Fall also specifies that Barthélemy Dias has never held an official position within Taxawu Senegal. “We have a coordinator, Saliou Sarr, a president of women, myself, and Bassirou Samb at the head of youth. Barthélemy Dias is considered the natural number 2 of Khalifa Sall, without any formal appointment being necessary,” she clarified.

Concerning the alleged distance between Khalifa Sall and Barthélemy Dias, Aïssatou Mbacké Fall is categorical: “Since his return from his trip, Khalifa Sall has only received Barthélemy Dias. To imagine a breakup between them is to misunderstand their relationship,” she told Les Echos.
