Storm Floriane puts the northern half of the country on alert this Monday. Eighteen northern departments have been placed by Météo France on orange alert for violent winds: Maine-et-Loire, Sarthe, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Indre-et-Loir , Loiret, Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Val-d'Oise, Aisne, Marne, Ardennes and Meuse.
The Loire and the Rhône also affected
Further south, the Loire and the Rhône are also on orange alert due to strong winds.

According to the Météo Chaîne, winds exceeding 120 km/h have already been recorded in Seine-Maritime, which has not been placed on orange alert. In Chamonix (Haute-Savoie), a gust of 145 km/ha was also recorded at the top of the Aiguille du Midi, at more than 3800m altitude.
