Around twenty other departments will go into orange alert from midnight. Isère bordering the Rhône and the Loire in its northern part, remains yellow with gusts of more than 70 km/h.

The southerly wind which has been blowing since Sunday morning has strengthened from Sunday evening.

A 2nd peak at midday on Monday

“With the approach of a disturbance on the Atlantic coasts, the wind will strengthen over the country during the day on Sunday” until reaching values ​​exceeding 90 to 100 kilometers per hour (km/h) in gusts at during the night, with locally 110 to 120 km/h, according to Météo .

“Two peaks of violent winds are probable: the first in the middle of the night from Sunday to Monday, the second at the end of the morning during midday on Monday”, always specifies the national meteorologist.

Faced with these violent gusts, the SNCF took measures in all the departments concerned.

The orange alert must remain in force until Monday afternoon in the 21 departments concerned.

“The wind could blow equally strongly” in the departments bordering the departments on orange alert, underlines Météo-France, which therefore calls for caution.

112 km/h at Reventin-Vaugris

In this regard, Isère is directly concerned, particularly in its northern part: a wind of 112 km/ha was noted in particular on Sunday afternoon at Reventin-Vaugris in the Rhône valley.
