This tragedy took place on the railway line, at the Beaucaire SNCF station, in Gard, early Saturday evening.
A man, whose age is still unknown, was hit by a passenger train.
A detachment of 10 firefighters from SDIS 30 with a medical vehicle was sent to the scene to rescue the victim.
Unfortunately, this man succumbed to his injuries.
Rail traffic was severely disrupted for several hours.
The SNCF services, the national and municipal police went to the scene of the intervention.
