After the snow then the warm weather, it's time for violent winds. With the arrival of storm Floriane, Météo France placed 21 departments, including those located in the Paris region, on orange alert for violent winds. Gusts of around 100 km/h are expected.
In detail, the departments affected by this new alert are: Vendée, Maine-et-Loire, Sarthe, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Eure, Loiret, the eight departments of Île-de-France, Aisne, Marne, Ardennes, Meuse, Rhône and Loire (the last two departments are already affected by this level of vigilance this Sunday).
“With the approach of a disturbance on the Atlantic coasts, associated with the depression named Floriane, the wind will strengthen from Sunday evening in the Rhône valley and until Monday”, detailed Météo France in its bulletin published at 4 p.m. . “Over the northern half of the country, storm Floriane will circulate quickly but intensely during the day on Monday. »
“Monday at dawn, storm Floriane will enter the territory via the coasts of Vendée. It will be accompanied by gusts of around 90 to 100 km/h. We can occasionally reach 110 km/h. It will shift towards the Paris region during the morning then towards the north-eastern regions at the start of the afternoon, before quickly evacuating towards Belgium,” continued the meteorological service.
As the path of the storm is still uncertain, Météo France also recommends that residents of neighboring departments, placed on yellow alert, remain cautious throughout the day on Monday.
