The French Dessert Championship 2025 will inaugurate its 51st edition on Thursday January 9, 2025 at Purple Campus of Béziers, with the South-West regional final, the first of eight events organized next year.
For more than 50 years, this competition orchestrated by Cultures Sucre has been a recognized springboard for French pastry talentscelebrating creativity and technicality. Much more than a simple competition, it supports young talents and professionals towards exceptional careers and reveals trends in restaurant desserts.
For the organization of this regional final in Hérault, the French Dessert Championship team worked in close collaboration with that of the Purple Campus in Béziers, mobilizing both teachers and apprentices. Thanks to this cooperation, candidates benefit from an optimal working environment allowing everyone to give the best of themselves in an atmosphere conducive to excellence.
During this day of competition, each candidate will have three hours to create an original plated dessert for ten people. In the morning, the seven junior candidates will take the stage, followed in the afternoon by the five professional candidates. All creations are carefully evaluated by a jury of ten experts, chaired by the chef Fabien Lefebvre of the Calice restaurant, in Béziers. The three “work” jurors will note the mastery of organization and techniques, both in the preparation and in the presentation and delivery of the desserts.
The six “tasting” jurors will focus on evaluating how the proposed dessert is beautiful, good and delicious. This is a very tasty day on the Purple Campus site in Béziers.
