Competition is fierce in the TV market between Samsung, LG, TCL and even certain Chinese manufacturers who now offer models with attractive quality/price ratios. It was during CES 2025 that LG lifted the veil on its 2025 OLED models which renew the range, particularly with wireless.
LG M5: the best of wireless OLED
LG recently revealed its new OLED TV lineup for 2025, including the M5, G5, C5, and B5 series. Models that provide notable improvements in terms of brightness, refresh rate and integration of artificial intelligence.
The brand's flagship model is the LG M5, which stands out for its wireless connectivity thanks to the Zero Connect box, allowing you to connect your game consoles and other external devices without direct cables. Available in sizes from 65 to 97 inches, the M5 offers the best LG TV experience with wireless audio and video transmission up to 4K at 144 Hz.
LG G5: always brighter and smoother
The LG G5 series, on the other hand, benefits from Brightness Booster Ultimate technology, which increases brightness up to three times compared to conventional OLED models. It also offers an unprecedented refresh rate of 165 Hz, ideal for gamers looking for fluidity. The LG 83G5 model has already won the “Best of Innovation” award at CES 2025.
LG G5 TVs are available in sizes ranging from 55 inches to 83 inches. According to TheVerge, There are also 48-inch and 97-inch models, but these won't offer the same maximum brightness.
The two high-end models, M5 and G5 are equipped with the new Alpha 11 Gen 2 processor, improving image processing and scaling for optimal visual quality. The C5 series also benefits from some of the technological advances planned for the M5 and G5.
AI, the novelty of 2025 from the remote control
Bad news, the new LG Magic Remote does not include a button dedicated to changing sources this year. You will need to go to the Hub on the home page or hold down the button to bring up your list of sources. The remote control has also been renamed “AI Remote” this year.
AI Welcome greets users by name and provides personalized recommendations based on their preferences and viewing habits, while AI Voice ID adds convenience by recognizing individual voices, automatically switching profiles and providing suggestions of content that matches personal tastes.
Searching for content on LG's new OLED evo TVs has never been easier, thanks to AI Search6 which leverages an extended language model (LLM) to understand the context of the conversation and uncover the subtle intentions of the user.
Access to Microsoft Copilot further simplifies the process, allowing users to efficiently find and organize complex information using contextual clues. For an even smoother and more engaging experience, the AI Chatbot proactively identifies potential user challenges and offers effective and timely solutions.
Basically, LG has put AI everywhere and it will be necessary to test in real conditions to gauge the real contribution to daily life, but the best news is that webOS now supports multiplatform integration with the Home Hub, seamlessly connecting to multiple ecosystems, ThinQ and Google Home, for control of various IoT devices.
The release of the LG OLED TVs M5, G5, C5, and B5 is planned for the coming months. The price of the different models will be known by then.
