This December 11, 2024, by presidential decree, eight new members were appointed to the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (CNRA).
The new members, appointed for a single mandate of six (06) years, come from various sectors.
Here is the list of new personalities joining the CNRA:
1. Mr. Mahamadou Diarra, cultural actor, joins the CNRA as a qualified personality in the arts. He replaces Mr. Pape Faye.
2. Mr. Papa Mamadou Tandian, retired civil servant, holder of a master’s degree in economics, represents associations of elderly people. He succeeds Mr. Ibrahima Sané.
3. Ms. Aoua Bocar Ly-Tall, sociologist and holder of a doctorate in sociology, occupies a vacant position for qualified personalities in the literary world.
4. Mr. Salif Sané, teacher-researcher and doctor of public law, joins the CNRA as part of the university community, replacing Mr. Djiby Diakhaté.
5. Ms. Maïmouna Makoar Diouf, sociologist and gender and communication advocacy officer, is appointed in respect of women’s associations, succeeding Ms. Ndèye Marie Diedhiou.
6. Mr. Malick Ciré Sy, journalist and president of the Board of Directors of RADDHO, represents the human rights movements, replacing Mr. Mame Balla Gueye.
7. Mr. Papa Madiakhaté Sarr, journalist and head of communications at the Departmental Youth Council of Pikine, joins the CNRA under the National Youth Council, succeeding Mr. Khadim Diop.
8. Mr. Oumar Diouf Fall, journalist and holder of a higher diploma in journalism, joins the institution as a representative of audiovisual communication professionals, replacing Mr. Lucky Patrick Mendy.
These appointments strengthen the expertise and diversity within the CNRA, an essential institution in the supervision and promotion of an audiovisual landscape respectful of ethical standards and democratic values.
As a reminder, Mamadou Oumar Ndiaye was appointed last November as president of the CNRA.
