The Calvados woke up this Saturday January 4, 2025 with frozen landscapes. The thermometer even displays -3°C this morning in places.
Vigilance in Calvados between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.
While 30 French departments are on orange alert including Seine-Maritime, Orne and Eure, Météo France has placed the Calvados in yellow alert for snow and ice this Saturday afternoon and evening.
Targeted vigilance in Calvados will take place between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.. Of the snowy and/or freezing rain are announced.
Freezing rain: caution on the roads of Calvados
Météo France therefore recommends that motoristsbe very careful on the roads of the department. Of the freezing rain could intervene throughout the east and south of Calvados.
The department of Eure, as well as eastern Calvados and Orne, will be subject to precipitation in places which could lead to the formation of ice. Ice, even in small quantities, can be particularly annoying for road traffic.
Calvados is also placed on yellow alert regarding floods this Saturday.
Gusts of wind: yellow vigilance this Sunday
This Sunday, January 5, Calvados will be in yellow alert regarding gusts of wind. A gray and rainy day is forecast, with temperatures higher than this Saturday, ranging from 2°C in the morning to 13°C in the afternoon.
Of the wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are expected.
