Focus FC ST GEOURS
This weekend, a shock at the top awaits FC ST GEOURS in the Coupe des Landes.
The DAVID DE SA players are preparing to welcome the biggest team in the competition, ST PAUL SPORT, a contender for promotion to National 3!
FC ST GEOURS, currently 3rd in Departmental 1 Intermarché, intends to do everything to continue its path in the most beautiful competition.
To begin this focus, how do you prepare your team to face a team as formidable as Saint-Paul Sport, contender for promotion to National 3?
David DE SA: “Before we begin, allow me, on behalf of the club, to address all licensees, district and sports lovers all our best wishes for this new year. The preparation for this match will not have been special. Our truce only lasted ten days and the players needed to cut back a bit. The players are aware of the task ahead of them but we have not forced the preparation. The small break will not have too much influence on this type of meeting in the as we played our last match on December 21. »
What do you think are the strong points of your team that could make the difference in this summit clash?
David DE SA: « Since the start of the season, we have been trying to form a group before making a team. We are lucky, with our senior staff, to be able to count on around forty players at each session. The players are diligent and the united and voluntary state of mind of this team is a plus. Players must become aware of their qualities. The state of mind will do the rest for Sunday or for the rest of the season. »
Does this match in the Coupe des Landes represent additional pressure for your players, or on the contrary a particular motivation?
David DE SA: « The club had a great adventure in this cup. It means a lot to the players. But let's be clear, if the SPS plays at its level, we will have very little chance. Our players will have no pressure and will not want to give in. »
What are your goals this year?
David DE SA: « We are competitive and we play all the competitions. The club and Leaders are doing a fantastic job both on training and structuring so that seniors can evolve in the short term at the regional level. »
Finally, ritual question in this “Focus” section, what message do you want to convey to your players and supporters before this Coupe des Landes shock?
David DE SA: « This meeting on this date will be something of a gift for the club. The stands will be full. Let's enjoy these beautiful sporting moments. »
