The 1^is January 2025the president of the departmental council of Manche sent his wishes to the Manchois by posting a video on Facebook.

In this message, Jean Morin takes a look at the months to come: “in the Channel, 2025 will be resolutely placed under the sign of adaptation. This adaptation to many issues that we must note between the amplification of climatic events which make them more visible and present, but also the coastal risks. We act in a concrete way every day by raising awareness among residents, supporting scientific research and designing solutions for tomorrow. »

He announces the holding of an event on the coastline management next March in Granville. This will bring together “renowned decision-makers and scientists”.

“Uncertain context”

The President of the Department returns to “the disproportionate financial efforts that the State demands from communitiesby uncompensated transfers of charges”.

Despite our rigorous and balanced management, these efforts made to reduce the State deficit will inevitably have an impact on our actions. We will be particularly vigilant in taking the necessary measures to limit these effects in the daily lives of residents.

Budget pushed back

The preparation of budget 2025 of the Department is done in “a economic, demographic and social context, more uncertain than ever ” : ” THE difficulties of our country will have consequences on all of us. To cope with this, the Channel can count on its assets, first and foremost its economic dynamics which we will continue to support. Leader of solidarity, but also of territorial cohesionthe Department will not leave anyone behind and will always be present alongside those who need it,” declares the president.

The budget vote will take place this year on 4 avrilthe debate on budgetary orientations February 7. The Department has pushed back these deadlines as far as possible in order to have most realistic vision possible state allocations and revenues expected in 2025.
