(Ottawa) Five women’s hockey championships will be held in Canada over a five-year period under an agreement announced Friday between the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and Hockey Canada.

The World Championship will take place in the country in 2027 and 2030, while the Under-18 World Cup will take place there in 2026, 2028 and 2030.
“Hosting IIHF championships is an immense privilege that we do not take for granted, and we are grateful for the support of the Federation as part of this historic agreement,” said Katherine Henderson, president and CEO of Hockey Canada.
“Investing in the growth and development of women’s hockey is a top priority for Hockey Canada, and we look forward to our athletes, coaches and staff participating in an unprecedented number of world championships on Canadian soil in the years to come. »
The submission process for the World Women’s Under-18 Championship is now open, with the tournament location expected to be announced in the spring.
The 2025 edition of this tournament will begin tomorrow in Finland. Canada will begin its journey against Slovakia.
