On December 30, 2024, a 23-year-old young man attacked three women at the Saint-Bruno tram stop in Grenoble. When he arrived completely drunk with friends, he first slapped an old lady. He then attacked a pregnant woman and hit her several times. Despite the fact that the victim had opened his coat to show his condition, the man continued to attack him, notably kicking him in the face. His sister, aged 15, who tried to intervene, was also attacked during this surge of violence, reported The Dauphiné liberated.
The individual, a Tunisian, who arrived in France only two months ago to find work, was tried this Thursday for aggravated violence. Before the judge, he assured that he had no memory of the beating of the pregnant woman, after drinking all afternoon. He did not deny the facts, but responded to the judges in a low voice, head bowed, and apologized to the victims who were on the civil parties bench of the Grenoble criminal court.

Ten months in prison were requested by the prosecution, as well as a three-year ban on French territory. The judges preferred to shorten his sentence behind bars – five months – but to remove him further from the country, with a five-year ban. He will therefore be sent back to Tunisia.
