Two Alberta ministers will travel to Texas to meet with law enforcement and justice officials to share ideas on the best ways to ensure public safety.
These meetings, the province says, could allow Justice Minister Mickey Amery and Public Safety Minister Mike Ellis to develop new policies and programs.
The ministers are scheduled to meet next week with officials from the Dallas police, the state’s attorney, emergency management officials and drug investigators.
Minister Amery says Alberta and Texas have a similar history and shared values. Minister Ellis believes that we must keep an open mind to improve public safety.
The discussions will last four days. The ministers are scheduled to return to Alberta on January 9.
