The Vigié brothers are in the living room of Christophe, baker at Auchan in and living in the town of Ocquerre, in Seine-et-Marne. He has just returned from work, he who got up at 2 a.m.

His brother Vincent calls their mother on videoin the kitchen redone by the latter, in order to get his news. “We’re going,” she confides to her children.

“The health of our mother, Martine, has deteriorated significantly in recent years. We made this fundraiser because we want to ensure our mother's last days, so that she can spend them in the best conditions. We want to redo his bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor,” explains Vincent Vigié with emotion.

This prize pool is son initiativewhich he has published since the end of 2024 on “Leetchi”. A site that allows you to create a pot so that Internet users or members of your entourage can finance it.

“I am as transparent as possible. For work, if necessary, I can provide all invoices without any problem. I even left my contact details in the ad description. We don’t lie,” defends Vincent Vigié.

The family wants to harvest more than €4,800 for these renovations. The prize pool only stands at €310 to date. There are less than ten days left to help the family.

Significant work

This jackpot, Vincent Vigié would have liked not to do it. “It is not our practice to do this. We tried to put together files to get help, but it takes between six months and a year,” regret Martine Vigié’s children.

The mother of the family experienced complicated episodes throughout his illness. “My mother came to live in Ocquerre with Christophe in 2021, when he bought his house, notably following the death of our father. Everything was going well, then she got sick. After several visits to different hospitals such as Meaux and Jossigny, she is now in Villiers-Saint-Denis (Aisne), with cancer which has spread,” continues son Vigié.

Vincent Vigié has already started some work renovation in the house. “We started creating his bedroom on the ground floor. There is still a lot to do, especially for the front door so that his wheelchair can pass through. We created a powder room right next door, so she could have everything, without having to go upstairs. But we do not have the finances to continue this work,” underlines Vincent Vigié, while stirring his coffee.

Mutual aid and generosity

Even if the prize pool is struggling to take off, the family received a lot of help and support from the village and Internet users.

“People from the surrounding area offered to help us with the work. In addition, we received several messages from Internet users to support us in our approach. Even an anonymous person sent us €250 for our kitty. Some have their hands on their hearts,” add the Vigié brothers, who watch over their mother.
