Heavy snowfall with wind is expected in many areas of southern and southwestern Ontario today and tomorrow, with up to 60 centimeters in some areas.

Environment Canada has issued snow squall warnings for areas extending from Listowel to the west, Bracebridge to the north and Belleville to the east.

The heaviest amount of snow is expected along the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, until Barriewhile other areas could accumulate between 15 and 40 centimeters.

The agency says snow squalls can significantly reduce visibility and make travel difficult in some areas.

A little snow around Toronto too

Environment Canada also issued advisories predicting between five and ten centimeters of snow for areas around Toronto, including Brampton et Oakvilleand extending westward beyond Stratford.

This snowfall should gradually ease this afternoon.
