Recurring cuts in other sectors

The Cotentin was swept by strong winds on the night of New Year's Eve and during part of the day of January 1st. The storms have been coming one after the other in the Channel for weeks. Other sectors of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin have regularly been affected by power outages, such as on the night of December 17 to 18, 2024 near the Églantine district, in the delegated municipality of Tourlaville. A resident of the hamlet Quevastre (or Quévaste) testified at the end of December of repeated cuts.

A resident of the place called La Fontaine de Jouvence also complained of repeated cuts: “ten since December 8”. This sector is located on the borders of the delegated municipalities of Tourlaville, La Glacerie and Cherbourg-Octeville in which a medium voltage 20,000 volt overhead electric line HTA which serves 2,892 customers is under construction to, precisely, secure it. It is a 350,000 euro project which will last until the end of the first quarter of 2025.
