Ten days before the first round of the legislative by-election, Grenoble is still looking for assessors. The municipality announced this Thursday, January 2, that it is looking for 30 assessors for each round of voting, on Sundays, January 12 and 19.
“It is possible to volunteer for one of the two tours or for both”specifies the town hall in a press release, counting on “the mobilization of its voters in order to guarantee the smooth running of the elections.”
The assessors will be distributed among the 43 polling stations in the first constituency of Isère, in Grenoble. Their role consists in particular of verifying the identity of voters and having them sign the voting list once they have slipped their ballot into the ballot box.
The assessor “must have a posture of political neutrality”adds the City. Anyone wishing to volunteer must be registered on the electoral lists in Grenoble.
“An hour of information-training for assessors will be held at the town hall before the polls take place”indicates the same press release. Volunteers can register by going to the City of Grenoble website, at the town hall reception or by telephone at 04 76 76 36 36.
Eleven candidates are in the running for the first round of the partial legislative election in the first constituency of Isère which extends from the city center of Grenoble to the cantons of Meylan and Saint-Ismier. This election follows the resignation at the beginning of October of LFI deputy Hugo Prevost, the subject of accusations of sexist and sexual violence.
