After a pressurization malfunction was reported, the crew decided to return to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport in order to carry out technical checks. No injuries were reported.
A great scare for the passengers of the Air France flight departing from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and bound for Barcelona…. Seventeen minutes after takeoff, their plane had to return to Roissy urgently . The cause: a lack of pressurization. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Pressurization problems in a plane can be serious, as BFMTV points out. Pressurization allows travelers to travel at high altitude without the physiological risks linked to the drop in atmospheric pressure occurring.
These serious risks are the reason why the plane turned around in order to carry out technical checks on the aircraft. The flight was canceled. On the social network “Air France crews are regularly trained to handle this type of situation in accordance with the manufacturer's procedures.”
The fall of oxygen masks
Air France recalls in its publication that the emergency descent procedure forced the crew to trigger the fall of the oxygen masks. A situation which may have impressed the passengers.
This incident is reminiscent of the one that affected the flight between South Korea and Taiwan in June 2024. A Boeing 737 Max had no other choice but to cause a fall of more than 8,000 meters. Seventeen people were injured and an investigation was opened to try to determine the circumstances of the incident.
