“There is a lot of tenderness between us…” Cécile Bois and Thierry Neuvic united in Made in France, the new France 2 event series

Brought together for the first time on screen, Cécile , the heroine of Candice Renoir and Thierry Neuvic are on the cover of 2 weekson newsstands from this Saturday, January 4, to discuss Made in a mini-series available since January 1, 2025 on the France TV platform and broadcast from January 15 on France 2. A very successful vaudeville, produced by Barjac Production – to whom we owe, among others, the series Cassandra with Gwendoline Hamon which demonstrates that labels are often misleading and that the greatest difficulty lies in remaining true… to yourself, whatever the circumstances!

It’s a little snub to our patriarchal society!” Thierry Neuvic gives his opinion on Made in France

Nothing is going well for Rita, mother of four children played by Cécile Bois, when she discovers that Olivier, her mechanic husband played by Thierry Neuvic for whom she works voluntarily, has cheated on her with a certain Olympe. This dream creature, twelve years her junior, played by Antonia Desplat, is a manager for Valières, a family business specializing in luxury leather goods: “It's the story of two women who are completely opposite and who meet to hate each other because they sincerely love the same man.specifies Cécile Bois in the article by TV 2 Weeks. One, my character, cherished her family but perhaps missed out on a career. And the other, played by Antonia Desplat, sacrificed her love life to succeed. Over the course of the episodes, the second will awaken the ambitions of the first which will humanize it so that it reorients its prioritiess.” In the role of the fickle husband, Thierry Neuvic continues: “It's a little snub to our patriarchal society, where the man I play was the head of the family, made his wife work in his business, and must deconstruct his old patterns to rebuild himself. It was particularly nice to break all these codes, especially with a guy caught between two women, confronted with guilt and duality.”.

Cécile Bois (Made in France) : “Thierry and I share the same simplicity…

As accomplices during the interview as they were on the set, the star duo of Made in France confesses to having had no difficulty in embodying a couple united by thirty years of marriage, as Thierry Neuvic explains: “The complicity comes first from the choice of casting. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn't! Cécile and I were lucky, and I remember her saying to me after the first reading session: “I knew it would go well with you.” and vice versa! There is a real tenderness between us.”. And his partner added: “Thierry and I share the same simplicity in accessing the essentials of our characters. A state of mind which allows us to open the door to all possibilities, in particular this physical familiarity which is born after so many years of living together, when the skin of the other is no longer a problem. Placing your cheek on his shoulder, spontaneously taking his hand… We integrated these little gestures very naturally into our game.”
