Raymond Lacan, former mayor of -du-Quercy and old general advisor of the Department of Lotpassed away on Tuesday December 31, 2024, at the age of 96.

Ses funeral will take place Monday January 6, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. in the church of Belfort-du-Quercy, followed by burial in the village cemetery. A final tribute can be paid to him at the Lalbenque funeral home from Friday January 3, 2:30 p.m.

Former mayor and former general councilor of Lot

Raymond Lacan became involved very early in civic life, first being municipal election since 1965then deputy mayor, before being elected mayor of Belfort-du-Quercy in 1983.

He was also a general advisor very involved in the life of his canton of Lalbenque since 1988. He was for a long time president of the Syndicat intercommunal à vocation multiple, and contributed to the creation of the community of communes of Pays de Lalbenque.

In 2013, he received the medal of knight of the National Order of Merit for all his public action in the service of citizens and his territory.
