The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners and its partners co-organized a national hearing screening and correction campaign for the benefit of residents and former residents of penitentiary establishments.

This campaign, which involved 495 residents in all penitentiary establishments nationally, is part of the strategy drawn up by King Mohammed VI in favor of the reintegration of prisoners, indicates a press release from the Foundation.

This initiative is also part of the agreement concluded with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) with a view to improving the provision of care. for the benefit of detainees and former detainees in penitentiary establishments, adds the same source.

Thus, 331 residents benefited from specialized consultations in otolaryngology (ENT), 184 others underwent audiometric examinations, while 87 prisoners and ex-prisoners were offered hearing correction devices. The Foundation organized a ceremony on Monday at the penitentiary establishments of Taounate and Aït Melloul, as well as at the central prison of Kénitra, during which it distributed 87 devices for the benefit of inmates and former inmates. Likewise, the Foundation will soon distribute hearing aids to other beneficiaries in penitentiary establishments, particularly in Bouizakarne and other penitentiary establishments.

Note that this activity is part of the integrated strategy implemented by the Foundation, in accordance with royal guidelines, with a view to preserving the dignity of this category, especially since health care makes it possible to improve and to strengthen integration into the social fabric in an optimal and secure manner.
