Saint-Louis, January 1 (APS) – The religious city of Fass Ngom will host next Saturday, the regional clean-up day “Setal sunu reew”, confirmed the governor of the Saint-Louis region (north), Al Hassan Sall, calling on populations to mobilize massively for the success of this civic and community activity.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday at the end of a meeting devoted to the modalities and mobilization of populations during this day dedicated to the armed forces, the administrative authority noted that ”this day will be a pretext to clean up the religious city of Fass and accompany the Caliph of Mpal as a prelude to his ziarra”.
The governor thus invited the populations to mobilize and arm themselves with their brooms, wheelbarrows and shovels to clean up the religious city of Fass Ngom.
The commander of military zone number 2, covering the administrative regions of Saint Louis, Louga and Matam, Colonel Thiendella Fall also launched an appeal to the populations to mobilize to support the armed forces in this citizen action.
Some innovations including the holding of a free consultation activity in the garrison medical centers of Saint-Louis on the Island and in Bango, will be on the menu for this edition, according to Colonel Fall.
He also announced a blood donation activity for this day with the installation of local committees which will be sponsored by the nearest military camps or gendarmerie barracks.
