Private fireworks, combustibles, police, gendarmes: what awaits you on New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is a time of sharing and festivities, but it requires increased vigilance for the Haute- prefecture due to the numerous gatherings throughout the department.

The prefect of Haute-Loire asked to deploy a reinforced system mobilizing internal security forces throughout the territory.

Nearly 150 law enforcement officers (police and gendarmerie) will be present on the roads to carry out speed, alcohol and drug checks. “These measures aim to ensure the safety of road users and prevent dangerous behavior.”

A prefectural decree issued

The prefect issued an order prohibiting:

– the sale, transport, carrying and use of fireworks, pyrotechnic articles, firecrackers and rockets. This ban does not apply to pyrotechnic shows declared within the regulatory deadlines and fired by pyrotechnicians holding a qualification certificate.
