He already has a track record that would make many champions pale while he is barely an adult. And he also already a room in his name, an extremely rare occurrence at his age. He came to inaugurate it on Saturday December 28, 2024 in the Gard.
It is Félix Lebrunthe table tennis champion born in Montpellier, in Hérault. He went last weekend to Saint-Christol-lez-Alèsa town of just over 7,000 inhabitants for an exceptional event that local table tennis players will not soon forget. It was the inauguration of the foyer extension room which now bears his name.
World No. 4 in individuals, two bronze medals at the Olympic Games, world No. 1 in doubles with his big brother Alexis… The small town had the rare opportunity to welcome a sportsman who has already made history.
“Very nice”
A “great pride for the municipality”. Particularly because it is the first time that a room has been named like this. The mayor and departmental councilor, Jean-Charles Bénézet, also found the hero of the day “very nice”.
“Thank you for this very wonderful recognition. a very nice gift which allows me to close this exceptional year 2024”, reacted the champion on social networks.
After an exceptional year 2024, what to expect in 2025?
The young adult (he turned 18 last September), will return to competition after a crazy year on January 17, 2025. It will be in doubles with his brother also licensed at the Nîmes-Montpellier TT Alliance during the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Borussia Düsseldorf.
He will then fly towards Singapore for other conquests…
