Two months of additional time for this future roundabout near the RN13, here’s why

Since the October 28, 2024the north access ramp to the town of Valognes (Manche) by the RN13 east closed in order to make a roundabout on the RD974 au lieu-dit Fosse Prémesnil.

The construction site was planned until January 17, 2025.

4 and a half months of construction

When asked, the services of the Department of Manche confirmed the information: “Indeed, the construction site took delay . No asphalt production in January

“Moreover, the month of January is a month traditionally dedicated to maintenance asphalt production stations. These are therefore closed until the end of January and no productionis not possible before this date. The construction site will not resume until the end of January,” add the Department’s services.

Cet layoutof a amount of 580,000 euros is financed by the Agglo Cotentin for 535 000 euros and by the Department of Manche for 45,000 euros.

For the development of the Armanville activity zone

Technically “the development consists of the creation of a roundabout with four branches of 20 meters in radius, large enough to allow the passage of heavy goods vehiclesand the creation of a parking area . ” THE works are entrusted to the construction company Colas, one of whose agencies is based a few kilometers away, in Brix.

About 2 kilometers to the south, near the Les Bains du Cotentin aquatic center, the project to complete the current half-interchange between the RN13 and theRD902(the departmental road which connects Valognes to Bricquebec) is also still in the pipeline.
