Tourism: the Côte d'Azur preferred for Christmas holidays
In recent years, the southern region has become a popular destination for Christmas celebrations. This year again, the Côte d'Azur is recording good booking trends.
On the beach, down jackets remind us that winter is here. But some do not hesitate to brave the cold to swim. Very good weather at the moment on the Côte d'Azur. “We’re on the beach. It’s 15°C, we’re playing volleyball”declares a Parisian father. These Christmas holidays have a little taste of summer for vacationers.
In Saint-Raphaël (Var), the café terraces are full. A good way to have the sun at any time of the day. In a city hotel, 35 rooms are in high demand for vacations. “We are very much a couple clientele”, says the director. The establishment has a good occupancy rate, 40%, unheard of during this period. Every year during the winter, more than 6 million nights are booked on the coast of the Côte d'Azur.
